Sean Fletcher is a television presenter and journalist, best known for co-hosting BBC 1’s Sunday Morning Live and ITV’s Good Morning Britain.

In 2018 Sean presented Panorama: Kids in Crisis, which investigated the funding and systemic issues which led to the failure of CAMHS to provide support for thousands of children and young people experiencing mental health issues.

Sean’s son, Reuben, has OCD and Sean works tirelessly to raise awareness and challenge misconceptions around the illness. He is a Trustee for Orchard OCD, a charity which is exploring innovative new treatments. He is also an ambassador for the charity Young Minds.

“Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is one of the most commonly occurring mental health disorders, and yet it is one of the most mocked and misunderstood. I had no idea - I may have even cracked an OCD joke in my time - until my son, Reuben, was diagnosed with it. It got so bad he spent six months in hospital.

My family learnt the hard way that it can be as debilitating as a severe physical disability, and left untreated can devastate lives. During that time I also learnt how to navigate the overstretched and underfunded Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.

I feel passionate about raising awareness of OCD, for those who have it and those who don't, with a particular interest in helping parents and young people, and lobbying Government to improve funding for youth mental health services.” - Sean
